Starting January 20, CR has introduced a telephone ticket booking service for passengers aged 60 and above. Eligible passengers may call the 12306 customer service hotline to book tickets for travel dates on February 2 and later, provided the booking is made at least three days before departure, with payment supported both online and offline.
At present, the service is available only to elderly passengers holding second-generation resident identity cards, with daily service hours from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. When booking, passengers are required to provide specific train numbers, seat classes and personal information, and customer service staff will assist in completing the booking based on ticket availability. This measure is intended to further facilitate ticket purchases for elderly passengers. It serves as a supplementary service to existing ticketing channels and reflects CR’s focused attention on the travel needs of senior citizens.
