First Tourist Train of the Year Departs from Qinghai to
the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area
On January 16, the first tourist train of the year from Xining, Qinghai to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Train Y458, departed with nearly 500 passengers on a 14-day journey. The train has, for the first time, included Hainan as a destination, filling the gap in cross-sea railway tourism between plateau regions and Hainan. The service adopts an intermodal “railway + road + sea” model, linking core attractions in cities including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Macao and Haikou. To better serve elderly passengers and families traveling with children, the train is equipped with age-friendly carriages and provides a full-journey tour guide and medical escort services. CR-Qingzang stated that, going forward, it will continue to develop customized “railway + tourism” products centered on emerging demands such as sports events and study tours, supporting integrated development of regional culture and tourism.
